“Natural Plant-Dyeing on Textiles”

Workshop has been cancelled.

Stony Creek Town Hall (52 Hadley Rd.)

Students will learn the steps of dyeing textiles with local plants and take home a finished, naturally plant-dyed, silk decorative pillow cover, as well as additional plant-dyed textile samples.

Reservation required, please call 518-696-5911. Materials fee is $25 and must be received by the library by October 9.

Instructor Jeanne Noordsy received her B.A. in Fine Arts, Studio from St. Lawrence University in 1983. She spent the remainder of the 1980s in Taos, NM where she apprenticed with area weavers and natural dyers, learning the ancient process of using locally-found and traditional dye plants to color threads for weaving.

This event is made possible in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program administered locally by Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council.
